How it works

How COVRA works

There are a lot of insurance brokers out there. COVRA puts your business in touch with one, so you don’t have to find and call them yourself. It’s free for businesses.

From enquiry to broker.

  1. 01Tell us about your business Use an enquiry form or the insurance check. You tell us what your business does, your postcode, your revenue range, the cover you’re asking about, your timeline and how to contact you.
  2. 02We review it We check every enquiry before any broker sees it.
  3. 03Approved brokers bid for it Approved brokers see a summary: your industry, location, revenue range, the cover you asked about and your timeline. They don’t see your name or contact details. Brokers who work with businesses like yours can then bid to receive it.
  4. 04One broker gets in touch The broker who receives your enquiry pays COVRA, then gets your contact details so they can get in touch. They can talk through your business and, where appropriate, give advice about cover options.

How COVRA is paid.

COVRA is free for businesses. Brokers pay COVRA to receive enquiries, and the broker who contacts you will have paid for yours. They’ll tell you about any fees or commissions they receive.

You don’t pay COVRA anything, and there’s no obligation to take out a policy.

The details.

  • Who the brokers are Only approved brokers can bid. Brokers must hold an Australian Financial Services Licence or be an authorised representative of a licensee. COVRA doesn’t recommend or compare brokers.
  • Your details Your name, email and phone number are only shared with the broker who receives your enquiry. See our privacy policy.
  • What COVRA doesn’t do COVRA is not an insurance broker or insurer and is not licensed to provide financial product advice. We don’t give advice, provide quotes or arrange policies; the broker does that.
  • Complaints Small businesses can take eligible complaints about insurers and brokers to the Australian Financial Complaints Authority (AFCA).
